hi all , didnt notice my pe till mid teens and got worse the older a got, now 24 and going to have the op done in march 2010 , went to my gp and got a referal right away ,spoke with dr kirk and set my date for the procedure .He spoke about the op itself and post op (ravish procedure ) .in hospital for 3-5 days then off work for at least 8 weeks cause a do a manul job may be longer !!! cant wait but still terrified never had to spend 1 nyt in hospital before so its a big step ... would love...

Only last night I discovered P.E. I really had no idea before-hand that it was a recognised condition, let alone that it was possible to have surgery to correct it.

ok, so im a 17 year old guy im pretty cool with the fact that i have PE. It used to look a lot worse but i lost about 20 pounds, and im thinking if i lose some more weight it will look even better! Ive been weight lifting for a bout a year now, and it doesnt seem to bother me too much. Sometimes when i take my shirt off like playing soccer or swimming people get freaked out by my hole in the chest. here are some pics

Bracing pc for adults

I' am a 31yr. old female w/ a severe case of pc that even causes one of my collar bones to protrude up and out. My Doc. is opting for surgery, but I was hoping someone might have some info. on bracing and if it would work for an adult.

Hi my name is Rachel and I think I have pectus Carinatum, this has not been diagnosed by the doctor. I am from the UK from Swansea, Wales and the orthopaedic doctor I was referred to did a ct scan and an xray of my chest and then told me he could not do anymore to help me.

The local GP's werent very helpful either as they told me when I get chest pain to use ice cubes and that exercise might help. Well they dont, and all the seven different types of medication I have been prescribed...

I have PE and I lived with this pretty good till recent time.
Suddenly I strated to have shortness of breath, chest pressure.
I did a test and found out that I have got an hiatal hernia and because of my chest there is not enought space for my stomach in the chest.
So minor thing turned out to be a major health problem.
As usually doctors were useless.
For a 9 years I was fighting my hiatal hernia.
But the problem was in my chest PE.
My breast bone presses and inflames...

The other Rachael on here is pretty much my twin. I'm 20, i have bad P.C and it is affecting my life. I am getting married september 2008 and although my fiance doesn't mind it, i do.
