Hi, I am contemplating having the surgical procedure to correct my PE in central london at The Heart Hospital. I have seen a specialist and he has said that he will perform the op. I believe that this is a form of ravitch procedure with a bar (3 days estimated in the hospital and eight weeks to recover fully). It all seems that after years of suffering silently things could now be moving very fast. Has anyone else had the op done there? The surgeon who will perform the procedure seems to specialise more in heart and lung surgery - should i be concerned? The consultation i had lasted only a few minutes and essentialy he took one look and said yes he would do the op as the dip was quite severe.... i've been in a bit of a daze ever since.
